You can implement a vacation reduction for a longer absence in TimeStatement in two ways:
1. Adjusting the workload (recommended)
For the duration of the absence, you can create a new workload with a corresponding validity period.
Important: Don't overwrite the existing workload. Instead, create a separate workload for each period. This is the only way TimeStatement can calculate the vacation entitlement and the work time balance for each period automatically and correctly based on the corresponding validity periods.
Example:
- Workload A: 100% from 01/01
- Workload B: 0% from 07/01 (e.g., during unpaid leave)
- Workload C: 100% from 12/01
You make this adjustment for the respective user under the following menu item: "Management" > "Users" > select the user > "Work plan" > "Target Working Hours Definition" > "Workload" > "Create Workload"
This option is suitable, for example, for a sabbatical or longer unpaid leave.
2. Adjusting the vacation entitlement manually
Alternatively, you can adjust the vacation entitlement manually by entering the desired value.
You make this adjustment for the respective user under the following menu item: "Management" > "Users" > select the user > "Work plan" > "Target Vacation" > select the vacation period > "Override Vacation Hours" field (or "Override Vacation Days")
Important: This option is a static adjustment of the vacation entitlement. The vacation entitlement is overwritten manually, but the work time balance is not adjusted automatically.
