An expenses flat-rate, also called a small-expenses flat rate, is ideal for covering smaller costs that are hard to calculate, such as office or shipping costs, without having to bill them individually.
When creating a project, you can set a percentage of the invoice amount that is charged to the client as a flat rate for expenses.
For example, if you invoice €1,000 of work and the expenses flat-rate is 3%, the client receives an invoice for a total of €1,030 (€1,000 work + €30 expenses).
Note: With TimeStatement, you can record both an expenses flat-rate and individual expenses for a project at the same time. Larger cost items such as meals and travel are usually not covered by the small-expenses flat rate.
To set an expenses flat-rate for a project:
1. Go to the "Projects" tab and click the project.
2. Under "Expenses flat-rate", you can set a flat rate for expenses.
3. Save the project by clicking "Save".
Currency note: For simplicity, all prices in this article are given in euros (€). However, other currencies such as CHF and USD are also available in TimeStatement.
